Boss Chicken to replace Neptune's Fish & Chips on Duke Street

The Duke Street location previously housing the popular chippy is being rebranded under the same ownership, with renovation works in progress.

Why it matters: Neptune's Fish & Chips had been a staple of the Waterfront area for several years, receiving high praise from customers with a 4.3 out of 5 rating on Google Reviews.

The details: Signs for the new Boss Chicken establishment went up two weeks ago at the site next to Tesco Express.

The previous eatery, which also sold kebabs and fried chicken alongside its fish and chips offerings, had garnered positive feedback for its "exceptional service" and "delicious food" before closing.

For context: Neptune's had previously experienced temporary closures due to fires under the most recent ownership.

The bottom line: Work is now underway to transform the former chippy into Ipswich's newest chicken restaurant. It is not known when the business will re-open its doors.
