The makers of Ipswich's new Monopoly edition are reserving three spaces specifically for local charities, with nominations closing this Saturday.
Why it matters: This marks the first return of an Ipswich-specific Monopoly board in 19 years, with the game makers calling it "a new game for a new generation" of Ipswich residents.

The details: Winning Moves UK, producing the board under license from Hasbro, will feature two charities on Community Chest spaces and give a third charity their very own wording on a Community Chest card.
"It's our way of thanking the public for getting behind the game so very enthusiastically," says Ben Ladd Gibbon, Custom Games Partnerships Manager at Winning Moves UK.
How to enter: Local charities can be nominated by the public or can nominate themselves by emailing ipswich@winningmoves.co.uk before 23.59pm this Saturday (22nd March 2025).
For context: To qualify, charities must be Ipswich-linked and official.
The bigger picture: Ipswich was selected from a shortlist of ten places across the UK to receive its own edition of the world's most popular board game.
Last month, the public was invited to suggest local landmarks such as Portman Road and The Cornhill for inclusion, with those polls now closed.
What's next: The finished Ipswich Monopoly edition will hit shops in time for Christmas 2025.
The bottom line: This represents a unique opportunity for local charitable organisations to gain recognition in a game that is played by more than one billion people in 114 countries worldwide.
