Award-winning comedian Omid Djalili has praised Ipswich as "one of the best places to live in the whole of the country" ahead of his performance at the Regent Theatre. The actor and comedian made the comments during a BBC interview before his upcoming show.
The big picture: Speaking to the BBC before his performance of "Namaste" at the Regent Theatre tomorrow, British-Iranian comedian, actor and writer Djalili, who lives in the town, highlighted several key aspects that make Ipswich attractive:
The friendly nature of local residents
Lower cost of living compared to other areas
Strong sense of community

What they're saying: "I would say, right now, Ipswich is one of the best places to live in the whole of the country," Djalili said in the interview. "Everyone on the road is nice and people talk to you, and the cost of living is not that high."
When asked if he planned to stay in Ipswich, the comedian responded that there was "no reason to leave."
The bottom line: While many comedians base themselves in London or other major cities, Djalili has chosen to make Ipswich his home, highlighting the town's appeal as an affordable and welcoming community.
