TV comedy stars to headline Trinity Park charity show in January

Marcus Brigstocke and Angela Barnes will headline a charity comedy night at Trinity Park on 24 January, raising donations for Suffolk food banks.

The big picture: The event, organised by Glass Eye Comedy and The Dove Street Inn, aims to support food banks and community pop-up shops across Suffolk while delivering a night of entertainment.

Why it matters: Last year's event collected 400 bags of food from 250 attendees, demonstrating the significant impact such initiatives can have on local food poverty.

takes place on Friday, 24 January, at Trinity Park

The details:

  • The event takes place on Friday, 24 January, at Trinity Park

  • Doors open at 18:00, with performances starting at 19:30

  • Features five comedians, including Suffolk local John Mann and circuit regular Mad Rob

  • Street food will be available from Patty Macs

  • Supported by Breheny Civil Engineers

The support: "We don't believe anyone should ever find themselves in a position where they don't have food in the cupboards or the essentials they need, and no child should go hungry," says organiser Louie Green.

"This is more than comedy; it's about showing the power of laughter and kindness to lift up our entire community."

How to attend: Tickets are available through Jokepit or via Glass Eye Comedy on Facebook, but move quickly – more than half have already sold.

Bottom line: The event combines entertainment with community support, aiming to surpass last year's food collection total while bringing nationally recognised comedians to Ipswich.
