Description

A former Suffolk schoolteacher turned university leader, Professor Lee will draw on her book 'Pretended' to discuss teaching under Section 28 (1988-2003), a law that affected thousands of LGBT+ teachers across the country.

She'll share memories of her time teaching in Suffolk and Liverpool, and reveal how her experiences led to her involvement with the critically-acclaimed 2022 film Blue Jean.

Currently Pro Vice Chancellor at Anglia Ruskin University, Professor Lee brings a unique perspective on this important period of LGBT+ history.

The event is free to attend and no booking is required.
