A car fire closed part of Nacton Road in Ipswich earlier today, with firefighters quickly tackling the blaze.

What's happening: Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service responded to reports of a car fire at around 11:45 BST on Tuesday. The incident led to road closures and traffic disruptions in the area.

  • Crews found a car in flames on a driveway upon arrival

  • A road closure is in place on Nacton Road between Hatfield Road and Clapgate Lane junctions

The car fire comes on the same day as a serious house fire on Portman Road, where two people were hospitalised after jumping from an upstairs window.
