Around 400 people participated in the Colour Run event at Christchurch Park on Saturday, raising over £22,000 for East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT).
Why it matters: The funds will help provide extras for patients and staff at ESNEFT that go beyond what the NHS can offer.
The big picture: Participants completed 1km or 5km routes while being showered in coloured powder paint. The event attracted both grateful patients and local businesses showing their support.
Key details:
Emma Everett, 44, and her daughter Kacie, 17, raised over £700 in recognition of Emma's care at Ipswich Hospital's Ear, Nose and Throat Department.
OCS, a local business, sponsored the event and had employees participate and volunteer.
Charitable donations and support from OCS UK & Ireland partially funded the event.

What they're saying:
Emma Everett: "I really wanted to do the Colour Run because the staff were amazing. Everyone I came into contact with was just brilliant."
Daniel Dickson, OCS CEO for UK & Ireland: "We've thoroughly enjoyed this fantastic event and are proud as a local business to sponsor the charity and have lots of our team taking part and volunteering."
Nichola Whymark, head of charity fundraising and marketing: "We would like to extend our thanks to everyone that supported us including the participants, suppliers, our sponsor and volunteers who made this event possible."
What's next: OCS is already looking forward to next year's event, suggesting it may become an annual fundraiser.
The bottom line: The Colour Run's success demonstrates strong community support for Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity and its mission to enhance patient care beyond NHS provisions.
