Ipswich Borough Council awards £140,000 pest control contract to Millenium Pest Control

News

Ipswich Borough Council has approved a £140,000 contract for pest control services to be provided by Millenium Pest Control.

The 24-month contract includes an option to extend for a further 12 months and covers maintenance and contracts, major capital schemes, housing, and other areas.

The decision followed a procurement exercise via Suffolk Sourcing (IBC/17561).

Millenium Pest Control was selected after submitting the most economically advantageous tender and the lowest bid. The evaluation criteria were weighted 60% on price and 40% on quality.

This call-off contract, which involves no service frequency or value commitment, was made to ensure that pest control services can be delivered as needed. The decision, classified as non-key, affects all wards within Ipswich Borough.

The notice of the proposed decision was first published on 19 June 2024, and the decision was due by officer decision on 17 June 2024. The council's recommendations have now been approved.

JET's Ipswich career: The journeyman joined Ipswich in 2011 for £1.1m from Arsenal, scoring nine goals in 75 appearances for the Tractor Boys. He left Ipswich in 2013 in a swap deal with Bristol City. He most recently played with Greenock Morton in the Scottish Championship.

The bottom line: The NCA warns that cannabis smuggling into the UK carries a maximum 14-year prison sentence, contradicting misinformation some couriers receive about facing only fines.
