Police have charged a 23-year-old Ipswich man with intent to supply Class A drugs following a vehicle search in Stowmarket.

The big picture: Officers detained two men after locating a parked vehicle on Union Street, Stowmarket. A search under the Misuse of Drugs Act uncovered suspected cocaine and two mobile phones allegedly used in drug dealing.

Key details:

  • Ghorge Mihai, 23, of Christchurch Street, Ipswich, was charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs

  • Mihai appeared at Ipswich Magistrates' Court on Tuesday and was remanded in custody

  • He is due to appear at Ipswich Crown Court on 21 October

What's next: A 26-year-old man, also arrested at the scene, was released under investigation after questioning.

The bottom line: This arrest underscores the ongoing challenges faced by Suffolk police in tackling drug-related crime across the county.
