Key details:

  • Barclay was arrested on Monday, 21 October, and charged the following day.

  • He will appear in court tomorrow, Wednesday, 23 October.

The case background: Anita left home around 5am on 24 July to walk her springer spaniel, Bruce. She was found unconscious by a cyclist near the sewage works and railway line at approximately 6:25am with serious head and facial injuries.

When found, she was wearing only a bra on her upper body, with leggings and trainers. Her dog Bruce was unharmed in the incident.

What's next: The case will now proceed through the courts, with the first hearing scheduled for Wednesday at Ipswich Magistrates' Court.
