A drug dealer has been sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to supplying cocaine across Suffolk and Essex. Police caught Alfons Kojku after stopping his car on the A14 near Newmarket.
The big picture: Kojku, 37, was arrested after officers from Suffolk's Sentinel West Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) Team stopped his Silver Hyundai in May 2024. Police found mobile phones and cash during the search.

The details: Officers discovered evidence on Kojku's phones linking him to organised cocaine supply throughout Suffolk, and police connected this arrest to a previous incident in Essex where Kojku had been stopped under similar circumstances.
He pleaded guilty at Ipswich Crown Court on 3 January 2025 to:
Being concerned in the supply of cocaine in Suffolk
Driving without a proper licence
Being concerned in the supply of cocaine and possession with intent to supply cocaine in Essex from 2023
He received a 5-year prison sentence and was ordered to forfeit £2,010 in seized cash.
What they're saying: Sergeant George Laflin from the West Area Sentinel Team said: "The sentencing of Kojku sends out a clear message that we will robustly deal with individuals that are involved in organised criminality and those that scourge our communities by dealing drugs."
Bottom line: Suffolk Police are encouraging residents to report suspected drug activity through their website or by calling 101, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
