Ipswich Town supporters will tuck into the Premier League's second-most expensive pies this season, but wash them down with the league's cheapest pints. Swings and roundabouts, then.

As we build up to the season opener at Portman Road, a study by online car-buying service webuyanycar.com, a company that clearly has way too much time on its hands, has revealed the costs Ipswich fans face beyond match tickets for the 2024-25 Premier League season.

According to the car marketplace:

  • The average cost of a pie at Portman Road is £4.90, second only to West Ham's £5.00

  • However, the average price of a pint is £4.21, the lowest in the Premier League

  • Town fans are projected to spend a whopping £5,186 each on travel, food and drink for the season

  • And they'll each cover an average of 2,981 miles in the process

Ipswich fans will fork out more to support their team than fans of 17 other Premier League clubswebuyanycar.com

It'll be a surprise to no football fan that football has become an increasingly expensive passion, but let's be honest, few will begrudge washing down a slightly pricier pie with the Premier League's cheapest pints as the club looks to cement its Premier League status after a long exodus from the football elite.
