U.S. rockabilly giants The Delta Bombers thrilled a packed audience at St Stephen’s Church with their mix of rockabilly, blues, and country. Supporting acts Red Hot Riot and local talent J.S. & the Lockerbillies added to the night’s energy with lively rhythms and rock ‘n’ roll vibes.

Thursday, 24th October: Bernard Butler at St Stephen’s Church

Award-winning artist Bernard Butler returned to Ipswich for a sold-out show, performing his first solo album in 25 years, Good Grief. Opening for Butler was Welsh singer-songwriter Edie Bens, captivating the audience with her folk and country-inspired sounds.

Saturday, 26th October: African Head Charge at The Baths

Famed dub-reggae group African Head Charge, co-founded by producer Adrian Sherwood, brought their unique blend of tribal rhythms and electronica to The Baths. Led by percussionist Bonjo Iyabhinghi Noah, they mesmerized the audience with primal beats and psychedelic soundscapes, creating a memorable live experience.

Quick fire crew response prevents Spring Road blaze from spreading

Firefighters raced to a home on Spring Road earlier this morning to tackle a bedroom blaze, successfully stopping flames from spreading to the roof.

The occupant was alerted to the fire and woken up by their smoke alarm, allowing them to safely exit the property and call Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service quickly.

Firefighters from Princes Street and Ipswich East fire stations were on scene within minutes of being called at 10.18am. The incident was closed at 12.40pm.

Two crews responded to the incident.

The fire is believed to have been caused by an electrical appliance. Residents can find more information about fire safety in their homes through Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service's safety guidance.
