Reform UK is a right-wing populist political party in the UK. It was originally founded as the Brexit Party in November 2018.
The party strongly advocated for a no-deal Brexit and won the 2019 European Parliament election but failed to secure any seats in the 2019 general election.
After the UK left the EU in January 2020, the party rebranded as Reform UK in January 2021.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the party opposed further lockdowns. Since 2022, it has focused on reducing net migration, supporting low taxation, and opposing the government's net-zero energy policy.
Nigel Farage, a former leader of UKIP and the Brexit Party, returned as leader of Reform UK in June 2024, boosting the party's support.
Reform UK campaigned for a no-deal Brexit and attracted notable Conservative defectors. The party rebranded to focus on reforming British democracy post-Brexit.
Farage stepped down in March 2021, succeeded by Richard Tice, but returned as leader in June 2024. Lee Anderson, a former Conservative MP, joined Reform UK in March 2024, becoming the party's first MP.
